Welcome to Lech-Lecha Journeys:

A Community of Seekers

At Lech-Lecha Journeys, we believe that the essence of Jewish life is a journey that intertwines personal growth, communal connection, and spiritual exploration. Our mission is to facilitate empowering outdoor adventures and communal journeys that catalyze personal development and spiritual growth, connection with the wonder of Hashem’s creation, meaningful interpersonal relationships, and a joyful community deeply rooted in Torah and a holistic approach to Jewish life and practice.

Journey-Powered Judaism

Journey-Powered Judaism is a transformative path for empowered Jewish living that arises from the synthesis of outdoor adventure, Jewish tradition and spirituality, joyful communal encounters, and a journey-oriented mindset.

Our Programs

Teen Adventure Camp: Designed for rising 8th-11th grades, these treks offer an epic journey into the wilderness, encompassing backpacking, canoeing, rock climbing, praying, learning, singing, and celebrating Shabbat.

Adult Treks: Our adult programs build upon a direct and open wilderness encounter, delving deeply into creation, self, community, tradition, possibility, and purpose. Participants co-create a pluralistic, kosher, and shomer Shabbat experience, fostering life-long friendships and connections.

Lech-Lecha’s Journey Hubs are vibrant local communities where participants can continue the transformative journey beyond the trail. Designed to foster year-round connection, these hubs serve as gathering spaces for Jewish learning, spiritual growth, and communal engagement. Journey Hubs provide opportunities to deepen relationships and live out the principles of Journey-Powered Judaism in everyday life.

Whether you’ve trekked with us before or are new to the Lech-Lecha community, Journey Hubs are your gateway to authentic connection and shared growth, rooted in Jewish tradition and values.

Organizational Outfitting: We collaborate with various groups—including youth organizations, synagogues, parent groups, campus groups, and leadership teams—to tailor our signature outdoor adventure immersives to your community's specific needs.

Our Pillars

  • Empowerment: Our wilderness explorations encourage participants to bring their full selves—their voices, passions, questions, and creativity—to contribute meaningfully to the group. This approach strengthens our campers and trekkers by enhancing their capacity to pursue transformative paths of purposeful growth and powerful impact.

  • Encounter: We emphasize direct and open wilderness encounters, delving deeply into creation, self, community, tradition, possibility, and purpose. Stepping away from everyday routines allows participants to focus, sense, and connect with greater clarity.

  • Community: Our small-group communal treks foster authentic, meaningful, positive, and enduring relationships that span backgrounds and identities, crystallized by shared experiences on the trail.

  • Torah: We integrate deep, expansive, and joyful Jewish learning and practice into our journeys, grounding ourselves in the foundations of our heritage to reach ever-greater heights.

  • Journey: We aim to catalyze a journey-oriented mindset that synthesizes physical and spiritual exploration and growth, equipping individuals and communities to embark on and sustain meaningful and life-affirming journeys.

  • Joy: Beyond the happiness and laughter inherent in an awe-inspiring trek with friends, the physical and spiritual accomplishments attained through a growth-oriented Lech-Lecha experience foster genuine joy—a profound sense of well-being and thriving.

  • Wholeness: We seek to harmonize the many facets of our personal and communal complexity and diversity, embracing the ecological wisdom and the give-and-take approach inherent in Jewish tradition.

We invite you to embark on a transformative journey with Lech-Lecha. Whether you're a teen seeking adventure, an adult yearning for spiritual growth, or an organization looking to strengthen communal bonds, our programs offer unique opportunities to explore, connect, and grow. As one participant reflected, "We are a generation of seekers. People are striving for community and for connection: whether that is to friends, partners, family, G-d, the earth. This journey facilitated so much inner reflection and outward joy for me and I hope and believe it did for many others."

The journey is the destination. We don't pressure for any particular outcome or enforce any personal practice—the Lech-Lecha experience aims to inspire, empower, and deepen each participant's own unique—and joyful—Jewish journey. This is a big part of what Journey-Powered Judaism means. We hope to meet you on the trail!
