About the Journey
Overview
This is a 3-day / 2-night cabin Thanksgiving Shabbaton at AMC Mohican Outdoor Center in the Delaware Water Gap from November 26–28.
We’ll be sleeping together in a cabin at the AMC Mohican Outdoor Center, a beautiful setting on a lake (with swimming!), surrounded by woods and trails in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area.
We’ll gather together, prepare for Shabbat, share in a Thanksgiving-themed meal, relax in the quiet of the forest, and make space for meditation and reflection. Through conversation, song, games, and time together, we’ll explore how to reconnect with ourselves, with each other, and with G-d.
There is room for between 16-20 participants.

Itinerary
(Subject to change depending on weather and trail conditions)
Day 1 — Friday, November 26 – 2pm
We will meet at the Mohican Center by 2:00 PM.
We will move into our cabin and begin prepping for Shabbat. We'll hopefully finish our preparations quickly and can spend the rest of the day by the lake and in the forest.
Once Shabbat arrives, we'll bring in Shabbat with song and intentional conversation and then share in good Thanksgiving food and good company!
Day 2 — Saturday, November 27th
We spend Shabbat in the cabin, playing games, singing, exploring the grounds, and in some intentional exploration and prayer/meditation.
The day is open for rest, reflection, conversation, and time in nature, with optional short walks nearby (within your comfort level). This is a chance to fully unplug and experience Shabbat in a quiet, natural setting.
Day 3 — Sunday, November 28th
We will make breakfast, pack up, close our circle, and plan to head home around 12pm.
Spiritual Theme for this Event
Thanksgiving
This retreat is an invitation to explore gratitude, its power, and how we can bring more of it in our lives.
Through meditation, prayer, Shabbat, song, learning, conversation, and quiet time in the woods, we’ll explore what helps us come home to ourselves and relax into the gift of what is now, right here. Together, we’ll make space for presence, honesty, joy, and rest.
Shabbat and Kosher Friendly
We welcome people of all levels of Jewish observance. Our trips are structured to ensure that participants who observe Shabbat and kashrut can do so comfortably.
We will arrive at our cabin before Shabbat on Friday where we will prepare for Shabbat together and spend Shabbat resting.
