The cost includes everything from the moment the teens arrive to Israel until they leave. The only additional cost is flights to Israel.

Adventure Camp will likely be lead by Noam Levenson and Nadav Slovin. Nadav is the director of Lech-Lecha and you can read more about him here. Noam is the Director of Programming and will be leading 2027 Adventure Camp US. Noam served in the IDF and both Nadav and Noam live in Israel. You can get to know Noam here.

Adventure Camp Israel is perfect for teens who love the outdoors, love hiking and adventure, and work well with others as a team.

Teens must be between the ages of 12-16 years old (rising 6th graders to rising 11th graders) to participate.

We are exploring whether the preference is for 1 or 2 weeks in Israel. Both options are possible.

We highly recommend you choose the two-week option unless there are extrenuating circumstances.

We find that, especially after a full week of adventuring, the group becomes incredibly close, and week 2 is often the highlight of the trip for both the teens and staff.

Adventure Camp is very appropriate for teenagers 12-16 who have hiking experience. Generally, the maximum daily miles we'll be hiking is 8 miles, but with plenty of time and breaks.

As long as your teen is in decent physical shape and enjoys hiking, they should be fine!

Teens must arrive to Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. Staff will meet your teen there.

The plan is to have staff accompany the teens to and from Israel.

Approximate Two-Week Itinerary

Aug. 9, 2027 — Arrival in Tel Aviv

Participants arrive in Tel Aviv and settle into our hostel or Airbnb accommodations. We’ll use the evening to get oriented, rest after travel, and prepare for the program.

Aug. 10 — Tel Aviv and travel to Jerusalem

We’ll spend the day exploring Tel Aviv before taking the light rail to Jerusalem. That evening, we’ll set up camp in the Peace Forest, just outside the Old City.

Aug. 11 — City of David and Aliyah L’Regel

We’ll explore the City of David and take part in Aliyah L’Regel, connecting history, place, and Jewish practice. We’ll return to the Peace Forest for the night.

Aug. 12 — Jerusalem flex day

A flexible day in Jerusalem, with plans shaped by the group, weather, and energy level. Possible activities include additional site visits, time in the Old City, or a slower afternoon before heading north.

Aug. 13 — Travel to Tzfat and Livnot

We’ll travel north to Tzfat and join Livnot for Shabbat. The afternoon will be spent getting settled, preparing for Shabbat, and connecting as a group.

Aug. 14 — Shabbat at Livnot

We’ll spend Shabbat together at Livnot, with shared meals, singing, rest, and time to enjoy Tzfat and the surrounding area.

Aug. 15–17 — Northern Israel backpacking trek

We’ll head out on a multi-day backpacking trek in northern Israel. Campers will carry their own gear, hike as a team, prepare meals, camp outdoors, and build practical backcountry skills along the way.

Aug. 17 — Finish the trek and Akhziv Beach

After completing the backpacking route, we’ll travel to Akhziv Beach for a well-earned swim, dinner, and overnight by the coast.

Aug. 18 — Rosh Hanikra and north-coast recovery day

We’ll visit Rosh Hanikra and spend a lower-key day on the northern coast. This is a chance to rest, swim, regroup, and prepare for our return to Jerusalem.

Aug. 19 — Return to Jerusalem

We’ll travel back to Jerusalem, shop for food, and set up our accommodations for the final Shabbat together.

Aug. 20–21 — Final Shabbat in Jerusalem

We’ll welcome Shabbat in Jerusalem and spend our final two days together with shared meals, singing, rest, reflection, and time to close out the program as a community.

We take this time with our campers to explore together what a living, engaging, integrated Judaism looks like. There's no better place for this than in Israel.

Backpacking offers a unique chance to do this as we navigate the wilderness it provides ample opportunitity for engaging group conversations as well as a chance to put Judaism into practice as we keep kosher, prep for Shabbat together, and start every day off with prayer time that caters to everyone's comfort level whether they want to meditate, pray, or just spend quiet time alone.

We aim to help teens explore their own relationship to Judaism, using it as a guidebook for living authentic, meaningful, honest, and respectful lives.

We welcome families of all levels of Jewish observance. Our trips are structured to ensure that participants who observe Shabbat and kashrut can do so comfortably.

Our food meets the kosher standards laid out by the Chicago Rabbinical Counsel (CRC) and the teens and staff prepare for and celebrate Shabbat together.
